Hey, I’m Michael.

I am passionate about telling true, good, and beautiful stories.

I’ve spent the last decade learning that the most important stories in the world deserve our most disciplined craft. Visual storytelling is a liturgy that shapes the soul, and I use that craft to invite people into a way of seeing that leads to a way of being. My work is centered on the conviction that what we see shapes what we love, and what we love defines who we become.

Right now, I am a Creative at Compassion International. My day-to-day work involves creative strategy and execution within our Artist, Influencer, and Church spaces. In an age of digital noise and "AI slop," my role is to lead creative efforts for high-profile partnerships, building dignity-centered narratives that move past the shallow mechanics of content to invite people into genuine, lifelong partnership.

My Leadership Philosophy

My approach to creative direction is built on five pillars

  • Steadfastness: A consistent, dependable, and quiet strength. Like an anchor or a long walk toward growth, I aim to move with integrity—unhurried, faithful, and dependable. This means maintaining steadiness when circumstances shift and carrying what is entrusted to me with patience. For me, steadfastness is a form of loyalty: to God, to others, to the work, and to the long story of which I am a part.

  • Wisdom: Before and while acting, I seek to see clearly, weighing what is true, meaningful, and lasting. Wisdom involves being mindful of context, history, and the layers beneath the surface—taking the time to understand before choosing. I value clarity, nuance, and the slow work of discernment. Anchored by the truth of Scripture, I want to be like a tree planted by streams, rooted in the source of all wisdom.

  • Peacemaking: I work toward right relationships and restored order. Peace is not the avoidance of conflict, but the move toward honest conversation and reconciliation with courage and gentleness. This requires charity, generous interpretation, and a willingness to believe the best about others when tensions rise. When something fractures, I do not look away; my hope is to restore clarity, stability, and dignity.

  • Imagination: I see possibility and create space for renewal. Wonder, movement, and creativity help me reimagine what could be, even when circumstances feel stuck. Because God is the source of all image, my imagination is shaped by a hermeneutic of hope. I believe God is always reshaping the world and moving the story toward restoration. This perspective opens room for transformation and a future bigger than what we can see today.

  • Formation: I care deeply about the upward shaping of a whole life—our psychosomatic humanity drawn toward glory. Spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental formation is the quiet work of becoming; it is the slow grace that reshapes us through practice, reflection, and habit. I value both the tools that teach and the rhythms that steady. I aim to lead by example, helping others live into who they were created to be while seeking that same transformation in myself.
